PlantDrive™ is a division of NBT Building Products Ltd. The company was started as an outgrowth of the M.Sc. thesis work of Edward Beggs in 1999. The research question was: "Are renewable oils, as fuels in unmodified compression ignition (diesel) engines, a technically and economically feasible component of sustainable system design, in both developing and developed countries?".
The company was established to research and develop "SVO" kits and related components and equipment.
